4,589 hours. Since 2015, that’s how much time MultiCare volunteer Randy Collins has spent giving back to the place that he says, “has given me my life back.”
Over a decade ago, Randy suffered a severe ATV accident, which would change his future forever. Thanks to the care he received at MultiCare Good Samaritan Regional Rehabilitation Center, he has a life worth living today — and it has motivated him to do even more for the next generation of patients.
In 2025, Randy committed two legacy gifts to MultiCare Good Samaritan Foundation: one by designating them as a retirement account beneficiary, and the other through a percentage of his will. Both will support rehabilitation services.
“Good Samaritan has done so much for me through my recovery,” Randy explains. “How many other people are like me? If I can support them just by being me, or through future gifts, then we all benefit.”
Not only that, Randy participated in MultiCare’s complimentary values-based estate planning process, offered through Thompson & Associates, where he learned new ways to clarify his objectives, organize a financial plan and maximize giving to the causes he cares deeply about.
“This process has really been a game changer for me,” he reflects.
While Randy has already helped hundreds — if not thousands — of other rehab patients, his legacy giving has the potential to inspire other donors to magnify their impact through a simple beneficiary designation.
“I hope it helps people and encourages others to do the same,” he shares.
